- Wear comfortable yoga clothing. Not too loose so that your instructor can see that you are in proper alignment. No shoes required. Some studios require socks.
- Let your instructor know of any limitations you may have. Especially if you have osteoporosis.
- The studio will be friendly and helpful to and get you acquainted with the space.
- While doing Pilates for the first time pay attention to your low back and neck. You may need to modify or stop if you are straining. Your teacher will help you out. Pilates is challenging but it should never hurt.
- If you have questions it is best to wait until after class or schedule a private so you can get all you questions answered.
- It’s best to arrive at least 5 minutes early so you can have time get situated and have a moment to stretch and get acclimated to the space.
- Pilates studios are friendly welcoming places, in no time you will feel at home.
- Have fun and don’t worry about others around you, remember you are there for you, not anyone else.
